Rev. Venus has more than 30 years experience as a Unitarian Universalist
and United Methodist minister. He is currently the full-time minister
with the Miami Valley UU Fellowship in Dayton. Rev. Venus’s first
ministerial position was in a small Universalist heritage church in
Michigan. He has taught courses in theology, men’s studies, religion,
and journalism. He serves on the Planned Parenthood of Southwest Ohio
Region Board of Trustees and is a co-creator and secretary of the
Interfaith Ministers for Reconciliation. Awards given to Rev. Venus
include the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee Sermon Award and
Faithful Courage Award. Rev. Venus holds a Master of Divinity from Union
Theological Seminary as well as Masters of Arts in Journalism and
Counseling & Guidance.
